Responsibility Strategy

Last updated 13 November 2025.

For us, responsibility is a commitment to continuous improvement. We recognise that what we create can never be entirely sustainable. Fashion as an industry is not included in the EU Taxonomy for sustainable economic activities, meaning that fashion by definition cannot be considered a sustainable business sector¹. What we can do is take responsibility for the areas within our control: choosing materials, partners and processes that are less harmful, more transparent, and built on respect for people, craft, and the planet.

We understand responsibility as the act of proactively preventing harm rather than merely complying. We are guided by frameworks developed at Lund University, where responsibility is described as taking conscious measures to identify and minimise risks associated with the negative effects that our business could have on people or the environment, even when those risks are not illegal or regulated². For us, responsibility is an intentional commitment to act in order to minimise harm, guided by ethical judgement, transparency and informed decision-making.

Governance

The founders hold overall accountability for our responsibility strategy. We review progress annually and update our commitments in line with new insights, supplier data and recognised international standards. As we grow, we will formalise roles and processes to ensure that responsibility remains embedded in our decision making.

Our Commitment

As a small company, our influence is limited, but our choices matter. We focus our efforts on five main areas: Materials, Partners, People, Progress, and Transparency.

Materials
Our approach to materials is guided by our commitment to durability, responsible sourcing and continual improvement. We select fibres and blends that provide long lasting performance for the final product while balancing environmental impact. We choose materials with high environmental and social standards and we review materials and certifications on a yearly basis to support ongoing improvement.

Our socks are made from 80% bamboo viscose, 18% polyamide and 2% elastane.
Bamboo viscose is a regenerated cellulose fibre derived from bamboo. It offers natural softness and breathability while maintaining a smooth, lightweight feel. Polyamide and elastane provide strength, elasticity and durability, helping the socks retain their shape and extend their lifespan. To extend longevity, every sock is designed with reinforced heels and toes. In bamboo yarns, which are naturally softer and more fragile, this detail adds strength and ensures greater durability. All our socks are Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certified, ensuring they are tested for harmful substances and meet strict international health and environmental standards.

Our tights are crafted from polyester by a GOTS-certified supplier, ensuring the use of recycled and recyclable materials.

All of our cotton garments are made with cotton sourced through the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), a programme focused on improving global cotton production for the people who grow it, the environment it grows in, and the sector’s future³.

Our packaging (paper sheets, boxes, postcards, paper, stickers, labels, and envelopes) is made from FSC-certified paper.

We continuously assess how durable our products are, not only through material testing but also through construction quality and craftsmanship. In the future, we plan to collect more data on product lifetime and wearability to strengthen this aspect further.

Partners
We work with partners who share our values of responsibility, transparency and respect. We require that our suppliers maintain full visibility of their own supply chains so that we, in turn, can maintain traceability across ours.

Our socks are produced in Turkey at a factory certified by Amfori BSCI (A rating), and Oeko-Tex®. The factory is a SEDEX member and undergoes regular SMETA audits to ensure compliance with international standards on labour rights, health and safety, and environmental management. The factory upholds high environmental and social standards and is regularly audited to ensure compliance, safe working conditions and fair wages. According to its latest Amfori report, all employees receive at least the legal minimum wage, work in stable shifts of typically six days per week, and overtime is monitored and controlled in accordance with Turkish labour law.

Our socks are Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certified, meaning they are tested for harmful chemicals and meet strict international health and environmental standards. To achieve Oeko-Tex certification, the entire supply chain, from raw material supplier and yarn producer to the final factory, must comply with the requirements. Each year, all links in the chain are audited and tested before a renewed certificate is issued.

The supplier also aligns its operations with the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Its due diligence process is based on close, trust based collaboration with all suppliers, who each sign a Supplier Code of Conduct. The team maintains open dialogue, regular visits and continuous evaluation to ensure that working conditions remain fair, safe and transparent.

Our tights are produced in Portugal at a GOTS-certified supplier with certificate number: CU1012643GOTS-2024-00126129, and license number: CB-GOTS-CUC-03-1012643.

Our cotton garments are produced in Turkey using BCI-sourced cotton. We collaborate closely with a long-term Danish production partner, who maintains direct and ongoing dialogue with the factory owner and can vouch for safe and responsible production conditions.

The facilities are visited regularly by our Danish supplier partners to ensure quality, compliance, and safe working conditions. Our production partners are selected based on shared responsibility values and verified third-party standards.

We prioritise facilities that uphold:

  • Worker well-being and fair remuneration
  • Certifications and audit transparency
  • Continuous improvement processes

In Turkey and Portugal, our suppliers meet these standards.

Supplier Code of Conduct

We want to collaborate with partners who can demonstrate compliance with international standards such as the Amfori BSCI Code of Conduct, the ILO Core Labour Conventions, SA8000, OEKO-TEX STeP, GOTS social criteria and/or the ETI Base Code. These frameworks are widely recognised for ensuring environmental protection, ethical labour practices and transparent supply chains.

Every supplier is expected to:

  • Uphold fair and safe working conditions as defined in line with the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises⁴. This includes fair wages, reasonable working hours, guaranteed rest periods, a safe and healthy workplace that prevents accidents and reduces risks, and full respect for fundamental labour rights including non discrimination, freedom of association, no forced labour and no child labour.
  • Respect the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining.
  • Prohibit all forms of child labour and forced labour.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy workplace free from discrimination, harassment or abuse.
  • Comply with international standards on environmental protection, minimising water, energy and emissions where possible, and ensuring responsible chemical management.
  • Maintain valid certifications and audits that verify ongoing compliance.
  • Support open dialogue, provide transparency on practices and data

We align our Supplier Code of Conduct with internationally recognised standards such as OECD guidelines for multinational enterprises and UN guiding principles on business and human rights to ensure legitimacy and provide measurable benchmarks for our suppliers.

People
We believe that caring for people is central to being responsible. That means investing in the well-being, growth and dignity of every person affected by our work: our own team, the workers in our supply chain, and the communities around us.

We commit to:

  • Respecting labour rights, enabling fair wages, safe working conditions and reasonable working hours.
  • Encouraging inclusion, diversity and equal opportunity in every part of our operations. Inclusion, diversity and equal opportunity are fundamental to the way we operate. We integrate these principles into our recruitment and workplace practices, and we ensure that everyone is treated with respect and has the same chance to contribute and succeed. We expect the same standards from our partners and monitor our performance to maintain a fair and inclusive organisation.
  • Fostering a culture of dialogue and respect, listening to feedback, and acting to improve where needed.

Transparency
As a small brand, we do not yet have the internal capacity to collect detailed data on water, energy use, and emissions, but this is where we are heading. As we grow, we will begin collecting and sharing these data points to bring clarity to the true impact of our products. We aim to define acceptable values for wastewater, chemical use and pollution. Once we have access to these data, they will serve as criteria for partner selection and production approval.

Progress
For us, responsibility is not only about what has been achieved. It is also about acknowledging what still lies ahead. We are transparent about our current limitations and committed to visible, step-by-step progress. This is why we have made our responsibility roadmap that we want to reevaluate on a yearly basis.

Our Responsibility Roadmap

As a small brand, we are on a journey. Our Responsibility Roadmap outlines where we are now and where we are heading. It helps keep our progress visible and holds us accountable to our goals.

Where we are

  • Socks produced in Turkey in Oeko-Tex certified yarns made of organic and certified fibres with reinforced heels and toes for durability
  • Tights produced in Portugal by a GOTS certified supplier
  • Clothing produced in Turkey using only BCI cotton
  • FSC-certified packaging
  • Prioritising land based freight over air freight, and prioritising using Greenway Logistics, a more responsible logistics partner, whenever possible when shipping to and from our suppliers.

Where we are moving

  • We want to have all of our pieces made of organic and certified fibres
  • Collecting water, energy and CO₂ data as soon as internal resources allow
  • Strengthening traceability of materials and partners
